About Tiega Varlack
Since starting Varlack Legal Services in 2009, I have been on the front lines of litigation as a trial attorney. Valuable experience in the courtroom was gained as a member of the Alameda County Bar’s CAAP program and Lawyer Referral Service. These programs helped me grow my practice as a young attorney while allowing me to grow as a litigator. As a graduate of Howard Law School, I chose to become “a social engineer” rather than a “parasite on society.” After law school, I served on the Charles Houston Bar Association’s Board of Directors, as membership chair. Helping others who are unable to fight on their own has always been a priority. Now, my firm has the resources and interests to represent clients in cases both big and small. In fact, Varlack Legal Services’ experience advising on entity formation, business law, contracts, and employment matters is quite extensive and began in 2006 when I joined BigLaw.
While at Howard Law, I got my early experience in the courtroom as student attorney serving indigent clients in the D.C. Law Students in Court program where I was a student member of the D.C. Bar. The assets I bring to representation are extensive trial experience in civil court, criminal court, administrative law, and immigration proceedings. In addition to legal research and writing, including writs and appeals, I have a wide range of experience in contract dispute resolution. Further, I have diverse experience in contract analysis, pre-litigation advising, employment advice and drafting employee handbooks. I also have experience in commercial lease negotiations.
I pride myself in mentoring new attorneys and over the years have forged relationships that have allowed me to become a part of the fabric of the Alameda County Bar. My interests include art history, wine tasting, and shopping vintage.
