Dr. Roderick Van Daniel, Esquire, hails from Aberdeen, Mississippi, practicing law in Birmingham, Alabama and boasts a diverse educational background, including an Associate Degree in Sociology from Itawamba Community College, a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Jackson State University, a Master's in Sports Administration, and a Ph.D. in Education focusing on Title IX and gender equality from Mississippi State University. Additionally, he earned a Juris Doctorate from Birmingham School of Law. In 2020, Dr. Van Daniel embarked on his legal career in Birmingham, Alabama, where he is now licensed to practice law. Since 2006, Dr. Van Daniel has been an active voice in social justice, writing and advocating on issues ranging from racial to gender equality. Before entering the legal profession, he served in various roles within the judicial system, including as a clerk for the United States District Court of Northern Mississippi and as a Court Specialist for the State of Alabama. He is currently affiliated with the Birmingham Bar Association, the Tuscaloosa County Bar Association, and the Alabama Bar Association. Dr. Van Daniel is also an alumnus of the Academy of Civic Engagement (ACE) for the City of Birmingham, a program designed to involve residents in municipal government operations. ACE aims to empower citizens with a comprehensive understanding of city functions, encouraging them to actively participate, serve, and lead in their communities.
