Peter Sobota Available Now

Mr. Sobota began his law practice in the Fort Lauderdale office of Ruden McClosky before going into solo-practice. His office is located in Davie, FL and features convenient access from I-595 and I-75. Mr. Sobota’s principal areas are personal and commercial litigation, aviation, real estate transactions, landlord/tenant matters, and preparing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, and health care surrogate designations. Recent matters include breach of contract actions, commercial loan defaults, enforcing insurance agent commission agreements, mortgage foreclosures, appointment of receivers, deficiency judgments, garnishments, tenant evictions, and aircraft levy and sale. Mr. Sobota has also represented major financial institutions in garnishment, TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and FCCPA matters. Mr. Sobota has been named a 2012–2017 Rising Star by Super Lawyers, is AV Preeminent Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, is a standing member of The Florida Bar Aviation Law Committee, and is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and the Broward Attorneys’ Real Estate Council (BAREC.) Mr. Sobota grew up in Hollywood, Florida, attended South Broward High School, and currently resides in Weston, Florida with his wife and two children. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Sobota has been a licensed pilot for more than 35 years, and holds a commercial pilot certificate with multiengine, instrument, and high performance ratings. Mr. Sobota is also a P.A.D.I. Certified Open Water Diver and Specialty Diver certified in Advanced Air NITROX. He is an accomplished percussionist, keyboardist, and vocalist. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Sobota worked for nearly ten years as a client-server database analyst for CH2M HILL, a global environmental and engineering company.
