About Missy Torgerson
My passion for employment law ignited during my undergraduate years at the University of South Carolina. From that point, I committed myself to a career focused on ensuring lawful treatment of employees and securing justice when their rights are violated.
While studying at Emory Law School, I took on the role of Director of Communications and Events for the Emory Law Moot Court Society and organized three conferences for the Legal Association of Women Students. My involvement with the Moot Court Society also led me to compete in the Cardozo BMI Entertainment Law Competition, where my teammate and I advanced to the semi-final round. Additionally, I held the position of Vice President for the Labor and Employment Law Society. I frequently mentored younger students, and I aim to continue supporting those interested in labor and employment law. In April 2019, I was honored with the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers 2019 Outstanding Law Student Award from Emory University.
Whenever possible, I enjoy visiting Six Flags and spending quality time with my cat. I am an avid supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Erskine Flying Fleet, where my sister is a volleyball player. I often explore the local music scene or dive into a new book.
