About Melvin Albritton
Melvin Albritton obtained a degree in Political Economy from Tulane University. He was also the recipient of a Louisiana Legislative Scholarship. During his time at Tulane he was chosen to represent Tulane at American Universityβs Washington Semester. After college Mr. Albritton worked for an Internet startup, βbabygift.comβ drafting copy for the online catalog. In 1999 he was awarded the Wiener, Weiss & Madison Merit Scholarship Award to Tulane Law School. In law school, Mr. Albritton was selected to join the Ruby Vale Appellate Moot Court Team, which focuses on the area of corporate law. In addition, he wrote on to the Tulane Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property. During his tenure on the journal, he published a comment, Swatting Internet Spiders: An Analysis of Spider Activity on the Internet that explored the intellectual property regime as it applied to the authorship of websites and the legal remedies available to website authors who want to limit the unauthorized reproduction or display of their site by a search engine.
