Kenneth Berland Available Now

Kenneth Berland is a seasoned engineering leader with over 15 years of experience building and managing high-impact software and infrastructure teams. Currently serving as VP of Infrastructure at Modelcode.ai, he leads innovation in automating the modernization of legacy codebases using large language models (LLMs) and workflow orchestration. As the first production software engineer at the company, he architected core frameworks for application deployment, monitoring, and scaling, laying the foundation for future growth. Prior to that, Kenneth spent nearly seven years at Amazon Music, where he was Senior Manager of Software Development (L7) and led the Playback team responsible for delivering flawless music and podcast playback for over 60 million users. His work included negotiating technical requirements with major music labels like Sony, UMG, and Warner, deploying new audio technologies like Dolby Atmos and Sony spatial playback, and overseeing streaming security across a broad array of devices, including over 100 million Echo units. Earlier in his career, Kenneth held several Vice President of Engineering roles at innovative startups such as Grand Rounds, Servio, and Reputation.com. At Grand Rounds, he was a founding member and built the engineering organization from scratch, ensuring HIPAA and SOC-2 compliance while launching new products and securing two patents. Kenneth also brings legal expertise to his technical leadership, holding a J.D. from the University of Southern California (Order of the Coif) and a license to practice law in California, alongside a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
