About John Markus
John Markus became part of Leeseberg Tuttle in October 2015, where he serves as an associate attorney specializing in medical malpractice and personal injury law. Before joining the firm, John pursued his legal education at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, emphasizing practical litigation skills. During his time in law school, he actively participated in the Trial Practice and Moot Court teams, earning the University Award for enhancing the national standing of the moot court program and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, recognizing his exceptional oral and written advocacy.
John also gained valuable experience clerking for Judge Ethna M. Cooper at the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas and contributed significantly to the Ohio Innocence Project, aiding in the exoneration of Ricky Jackson, the longest-serving wrongfully convicted individual in U.S. history.
Before attending law school, John graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science.
