About John βΊ
John T. Elliott is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and he focuses his practice on probate, estate planning, and guardianship law. He is deeply committed to helping clients navigate the often-complex probate process, providing clear guidance and practical solutions to ensure estates are administered efficiently, assets are protected, and families experience as little stress as possible during difficult times.
Understanding that every clientβs situation is unique, John takes a personalized approach, carefully listening to his clientsβ goals and crafting strategies that honor their wishes while minimizing potential disputes and complications. His experience in both estate planning and probate allows him to guide clients proactively, helping them avoid unnecessary legal hurdles and ensuring that their loved ones are taken care of according to their intentions.
Originally from Bryan/College Station, John earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University in 1999 and worked as a construction manager for a family-owned company preparing sites for telephone equipment installations across southeastern Texas. He went on to graduate with honors from South Texas College of Law in 2006, where he served on the South Texas Law Review and clerked for the Law Office of Sharon C. Stodghill before joining the practice.
He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER designation, which equips him to integrate clientsβ estate plans with their broader financial goals. This dual expertise allows John to help clients not only plan for the transfer of assets after death but also ensure their financial well-being and protection during their lifetime.
Notable Achievements: John T. Elliott has earned the David Mizgala Award for Outstanding Legal Writing from the Editors of the South Texas College of Law - Houston Law Review.
