ABOUT EDIE ROGOWAY I have been a Portland-based trial lawyer for the past 20 years, the last ten of which have been in private practice representing criminal defense clients in state and federal court. A key strength and my favorite part of practicing law is building relationships, and I take great pride in the customer service component of my job. I am personally involved in each stage of every case, from strategy and investigation to motion practice to alternative resolutions, and jury trial. I began my career as a Multnomah County Public Defender. During this time, I gained extensive trial experience by representing hundreds of clients charged with every type of crime. Prior to entering private practice, I was an associate with a large insurance defense firm. I handled complex multi-party civil cases in the areas of personal injury, construction defect, and real estate disputes, and gained valuable insight into how large insurance companies and their law firms handle cases. As a CJA Panel Attorney in the District of Oregon, I represent federal defendants in complex, multi-defendant cases - from cartel conspiracy charges, to international racketeering to federal sex trafficking (and everything in between) In my former life I was a stand-up comic, and in 2000, won the Portland Comedy Competition, a skill that has given me a unique advantage in the courtroom. I continue to enjoy using those skills as a public speaker, storyteller and event emcee. In 2018, I created Edie's List (www.edieslist.com), the first and one of few multi-industry women's business directory in Portland, which has grown to over 200 women in every trade. When not practicing law, I enjoy spending time with my husband Nathan and daughter Georgia, and volunteering with a variety of non-profit organizations in Portland.
