Daniel Pickens Available Now

Daniel Shawn Pickens was born and grew up in Sheffield, AL. He graduated from Sheffield High School in 2009 and later earned a degree in General Studies from Calhoun Community College. While at The University of West Alabama, he achieved a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 2019 and was recognized as the University Scholar in Finance. Mr. Pickens got his law degree from Birmingham School of Law in December 2022. During law school, he received the Outstanding 1L award, was a member of the Judge Hugh Locke Honor Society, and was named a “BSL Star”. After completing the required hours, he made the Dean’s List and stayed on it until graduating in December 2022. He made the highest grades in the class for: in Torts I, Contracts I, Legal Methods, Civil Procedure I, Evidence I, and Domestic Relations. Before Daniel Shawn Pickens decided to go back to school, he spent several years as a Firefighter. Over two of those years were with the City of Madison. He obtained many technical certifications and became an Advanced EMT during his time there. Prior to joining Thigpen, Engelthaler, Pipkins & Pickens, Inc., Mr. Pickens spent over a year and a half as the women’s golf coach at Calhoun Community College. His players won several trophies during his time as coach and his team was named the ACCC Academic Team of the Year after his first year. In his spare time, he likes to play golf, go hiking, and read.
