Under my leadership as a former police officer, our firm leverages over 25 years of combined law enforcement and legal experience to achieve high dismissal and success rates for our clients. My background as both an attorney and a former police officer gives me a distinct advantage in every case. I use my training and insight to rebuild cases from the ground up, identifying procedural errors and evidentiary weaknesses that others might miss, ensuring my clients receive the strongest defense possible. I began my professional career after graduating from the Detroit Police Academy in 1996, serving the citizens of Detroit’s 7th Precinct before continuing my law-enforcement career with a suburban police department. During my time in law enforcement, I earned three commendation awards for outstanding service in the line of duty and was nominated for Police Officer of the Year. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of investigative practices and constitutional policing, knowledge that I now apply to serve my clients in court. I earned my Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where I excelled academically and received the American Jurisprudence Award in Police Civil Liability. I also completed an externship with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, working in the felony trial division. There, I gained significant courtroom and trial-advocacy experience, assisting in the prosecution of serious felony cases, including homicide and other capital offenses. In 2008, I established my private practice, focusing on criminal defense. For over a decade, I have also served as assigned counsel in the Oakland and Wayne County Circuit Courts, representing indigent defendants charged with felony offenses. My experience as both a former officer and a defense attorney allows me to approach each case with a unique dual perspective, understanding how the system operates from both sides of the law.
