I am a native of Carroll, Iowa and grew up on a farm. Early on, my parents taught me the meaning of hard work. My chores on the farm included feeding livestock, baling hay, walking beans and detasseling corn. In addition to the work on the farm, I woke up at 5:30 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday during high school to work at a restaurant in town. I graduated from Kuemper High School in 2006. After high school, I attended Drake University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in business law. While attending Drake University, I owned my own private investigation business where I worked cases ranging from cheating spouses to cold case homicides. Upon graduation from Drake University, I moved to Michigan to attend Michigan State University College of Law. While at MSU, I worked at the Michigan Attorney General Office in the Consumer Protection Division during my first year. In my second and third years of law school, I worked at the Sinas Dramis Law Firm. I had the pleasure of working with the past chief investigator of the United States of America on criminal matters. I also worked with other partners in the firm who handled big personal injury cases across the United States, including the Pan Am Flight 103 plane crash case and the Larry Nassar case regarding the assaults of past Olympic gymnasts. I graduated Cum Laude at Michigan State College of Law and moved back to Iowa so I could be closer to family. I have been practicing law for the past 5 years and have handled (and won) a significant amount of jury trials.
