About Amanda Owens
Amanda Owens is a Board Certified Specialist in Elder Law by the North Carolina State Bar and a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA), a distinction awarded by the National Elder Law Foundation and recognized by the American Bar Association. She focuses her practice on serving the legal needs of older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families throughout Eastern North Carolina.
Amanda graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Ohio State University with a B.A. in English and earned her J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law.
Her practice includes Medicaid and Medicare planning, estate and long-term care planning, guardianship and incompetency proceedings, special needs planning, and advocacy for victims of elder financial exploitation. Amanda is a zealous advocate for access to public benefits, including Medicaid and Special Assistance, and works closely with families to navigate eligibility rules and preserve resources.
As the spouse of a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Amanda has a strong personal connection to military families and proudly serves veterans in matters related to VA benefits. She is accredited by the Department of Veterans Affairs to represent claimants seeking VA benefits.
Amanda is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, Ohio, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, and the United States Supreme Court.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, painting, playing music, and cheering for her favorite football and baseball teams. She is proud to call North Carolina home and is honored to serve the local community with compassion and integrity.
