I am a Principal attorney at Hartman King PC. My practice area focuses on environmental and weights and measures law. I represent a diverse array of clients, including Fortune 500 companies that include a nationwide natural grocery chain, a dominant online retailer and technology developer, and innovative online retail service provider, to commercial and agricultural landowners and professional fiduciaries. I represent auto industry businesses, produce and transportation companies, product and food manufacturers, and energy and petroleum facility owners and distributors. My work involves providing compliance advice and defending clients against issues related to numerous federal, state, and local laws, particularly those concerning hazardous waste, water quality, and refrigerant management/air emissions. I guide clients through the environmental risks and liabilities that come with acquiring or merging businesses. This includes conducting environmental due diligence, negotiating deal terms, and mitigating potential environmental liabilities. I also advise on transactions involving contaminated properties, offering strategic guidance on site investigations and the environmental remediation of contaminated urban and agricultural properties. In addition to defending clients in federal and state courts, I represent them before government agencies in enforcement actions. I have specialized experience advising clients in weights and measures law compliance and representing them in weights and measures enforcement actions. I enjoy collaborating with innovative client engineering and in-house counsel teams through complex weights and measures regulations to bring new technology to the national online and physical marketplace. I earned my law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where I was on the McGeorge Law Review and a member of the Anthony M. Kennedy Inn of Court. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame.
